Perched bald eagles, like this one, are commonly seen within the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge Complex, particularly during the winter months when there’s plenty of prey available. Other commonly seen raptors are red-tailed hawks, kestrels, red-shouldered hawks, and great horned owls. Photo by Steven T. Callan.
