Hello, Everyone,
Happy New Year! I hope you’re all doing well and have been able to get out in nature and enjoy the spring-like weather we’ve been having: plenty of rain to turn the hills and valleys green and seventy-degree afternoons. What more could we ask for?
As we enter 2026, I wanted to let you know how grateful I am for all your support. My latest novel in the Game Warden Henry Glance series, The Outlaw from Newville, was released by Coffeetown Press in June, and so many of you have taken the time to post reviews on Amazon, Facebook, and Goodreads. I want you to know how much I appreciate the reviews and the wonderful feedback you’ve given me in letters and in person. It’s because of your encouragement that Henry Glance lives on and I’m diligently working on the next chapter in his ongoing saga.
2025 Book-Tour Recap
We’ve been busy! Thanks to our old friends, several new ones we had the pleasure of meeting, and our gracious hosts, our 2025 book tour was a huge success. It all began even before the June 10 release of The Outlaw from Newville.
The fun started with an invitation from California Retired Teachers Association, Division 9, to come to Corning for an author presentation and book signing in April. It had been a few years since Kathy and I had met with this group of retired teachers from Glenn and Tehama counties, but they were so gracious and friendly, it seemed like only yesterday.

Next, the wonderful folks at Redding Barnes & Noble invited Kathy and me to celebrate the release of The Outlaw from Newville by having a book signing at their beautiful new store on June 21. The event was a huge success, thanks to many of our old friends who scheduled their valuable time to be there, and a host of new ones we had the pleasure of meeting for the first time.

The Pacific Flyway Decoy Association held their annual show in Sacramento July 11-13, and, as they’d done every year since my first book was released in 2013, invited Kathy and me to join in the festivities. The book signing was a hit, we got to reconnect with many of our artist friends, and we had the privilege of seeing some of the best fish-and-wildlife wood carvings in the world.

I was a proud guest on the popular National Public Radio program Nancy’s Bookshelf on August 20. This was the fourth time I’d been a guest on Nancy Wiegman’s show since I began writing in 2010. She is an incredibly gracious and professional host, and it’s always a pleasure to see her.

Our friends at the Chico Barnes & Noble invited Kathy and me to hold a book signing on August 23. We had a ball, met so many intelligent and well-read people, and will never forget the warm welcome we received from the professional Barnes & Noble staff.

My presentation at the Friends of the Orland Free Library meeting on September 4 was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my writing career. My hometown greeted Kathy and me with a packed house and brought tears to my eyes! Thank you so much to Gene Russell, Jody Meza, and the Friends of the Orland Free Library for arranging this unforgettable event.

The Daughters of Leisure, an organization of delightful and intelligent ladies in Yuba City, invited Kathy and me to give a presentation on November 10. We enjoyed every minute of our fun-filled engagement, including the gourmet meal.

Our 2025 book tour was topped off with my pre-Christmas book signing at the Rusty Wagon boutique in Orland on December 6. Thank you so much to everyone who came, and a special thanks to the Rusty Wagon’s friendly and gracious staff!
