2023 Book Tour Off to a Great Start
The 2023 book tour is off to a great start! Two of the recent highlights are giving presentations to Sacramento’s California Fly Fishers Unlimited and the Red Bluff Garden Club.
During my career as a wildlife-protection officer, I came in contact with hundreds, if not thousands, of intelligent, conscientious, law-abiding fly fishers—both men and women—who not only loved to fish but were also dedicated to the well-being and proliferation of the fish species they pursued. The men and women of Sacramento’s California Fly Fishers Unlimited fit that mold to a tee. They couldn’t have been more gracious, and by the time I had finished my presentation, I felt like I knew everyone in the room.
Right away, Kathy and I had something in common with the wonderful and gracious members of the Red Bluff Garden Club—our passion for gardening and our passion for nature. I explained during my presentation that it was because of our passion for nature that Kathy and I had spent the last thirty-nine years turning our Palo Cedro home into a sanctuary for wildlife.
A heartfelt thank you to California Fly Fishers Unlimited and the Red Bluff Garden Club for making us feel so at home and for your dedication to conservation and community service!
Our next stop on the book tour is Bank of Books in Santa Paula, a short drive northeast of Ventura on Highway 126. We’ll be there for a book signing on Saturday, August 5, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Fly fishing is the only way to fish! Even UC Davis offered a course in fly fishing when I attended! I practiced with a plug on the university lawn!

What a great memory, Cindy! Fly-fishing is definitely an art. I admire and respect your skill and perseverance.
